Frequently asked questions about activities at Warped Sports

GENERAL ENQUIRIES

What days are you open and do I need to pre-book?

We are open almost 365 days a year!  Activity sessions do need to be pre-booked and we do strongly recommend booking your desired date at least 3-4 weeks in advance to avoid disappointment as we regularly fill our available sessions. However, last minute bookings are often possible (in the event of cancellations, etc); to check availability, please contact the booking office on 01902 455455 (lines open 7 days, ‘til 9pm).

What do I need to bring on the day?

Players should wear loose, comfortable clothing that they can move around in, and footwear that is suitable for running around an outdoor, woodland environment. We recommend boots or trainers with a good tread and ankle support as it can be muddy and slippery in the 110 acre woodland.

You may also want to bring some money for purchasing additional extras (if these are relevant to your activity) such as paintballs, gloves, grenades and pyrotechnics (cash and credit/debit cards accepted).

What do I do if I get lost trying to find the centre?

To avoid getting lost we suggest you make sure all drivers in your group print the directions from the website and take these with them.  Our directions are for guidance only, we recommend using a road map for more precise directions. Generally speaking, if you can find Junction 3 of the M54, you will find us (we are 20 yards off the roundabout’s Cosford exit).  If you do have trouble finding the centre, call us on 01902 455455 and one of our friendly staff will help you find our site.

How do I make a booking?

To book, all you need to do is call us on 01902 455455 (7 days a week, 9am until 9pm) and speak to one of our friendly Event Coordinators to check availability and book your event. Alternatively, you can request a call back through this website, or complete the online booking form.  Another option is to drop in to our Cosford site and speak to the site manager.  Please note: it is best to call in advance and make an appointment to visit the Cosford site.

We also have a booking office in Cosford at: The Old Station, Worcester Road, Cosford, WV7 3EY. Opening hours are 10am – 5pm for you to drop in as is convenient.

I’m not sure how many players I have, but I want to book now so that I don’t miss out on the date I want. What should I do?

To help you get things organised as easily as possible, we offer a free Provisional Booking service that allows you to “pencil in” a reservation while you sort out definite numbers, etc. You don’t need to pay anything to make a provisional booking, just get in touch to check availability for your preferred date and our friendly, knowledgeable Event Coordinators will help you get things organised from there.

Do I need to fill out a registration form?

All players attending the Warped Sports Cosford site are required to complete an activity disclaimer form before engaging in their activity (this form will be attached to your booking confirmation email when you make a booking, or can be downloaded from this website).

Your arrival & registration process will be much quicker if you turn up with your form already completed but if this is not possible (or somebody forgets their form), you will be able to complete it upon arrival. Players under 16 years must have their form counter-signed by a parent or responsible adult (the parental consent section is at the bottom of every form). If you are dropping off a junior player, please ensure that they have a counter-signed form before you leave as they will not be able to participate in any activity without it.

What happens if a player does not turn up on the day and I have already paid for them?

All payments are non-refundable and non-transferable. However, if a friend drops out before your game day, you are welcome to find somebody else to fill the space.

Do I need to bring my ticket/voucher with me on the day?

If you have pre-purchased tickets, or are planning to redeem a voucher (such as one of our Warped Gift Vouchers), it’s best to mention this to your Event Coordinator when you make your booking. You will need to bring your ticket/voucher with you and present it upon arrival at the registration office on site – we won’t be able to honour a ticket or voucher if you don’t have it with you on the day. Most tickets/vouchers have an expiry date so it’s also a good idea to check that your ticket/voucher will still be valid on the day of your event, or you won’t be able to redeem it.

If you are looking for a special gift for someone but aren’t sure what activity they would like to do, give us a call and talk to an Event Coordinator about Warped Gift Vouchers (available all year round).

FULL IMPACT PAINTBALLING at Warped

How many players do I need to bring?

There is no minimum or maximum number of players required; any group size is fine (although we may require a minimum spend level in order to open for a midweek game).  You will be joined with other groups of like-minded players on the day to make up a team.

We can offer exclusive paintball games, playing against just members of your own group; you will need to bring a minimum of 20 players and request this with your Event Coordinator when you make a booking. It’s definitely best to book well in advance if you want us to be able to guarantee you an exclusive game.

What times can we play?

A full day session is 9.30am until approximately 4.00 – 4.30pm. A half-day morning session is 9.30am until 12.30 – 1.00pm; a half-day afternoon session is 1.00pm until 4.00 – 4.30pm. Please arrive approximately 15 minutes before your session is due to start, to ensure that your arrival & registration process is smooth and easy.

We can also offer bespoke session timings, by arrangement (subject to availability and may involve minimum requirements); just give us a call to discuss your group with an Event Coordinator.

What happens on the day?

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our friendly staff who will check you in.  After you have completed activity disclaimer forms, you will be kitted up with all the gear that you need and attend a compulsory rules & safety briefing (so that you can stay safe while you have fun).  Then the action starts!  You will play 10-12 varied games during a full day session, and 5-6 games during a half-day session, with short refreshment breaks in between to reload your paintballs and discuss tactics!

How many paintballs will I need?

There is no way of knowing how many paintballs any individual will use, as it depends on how trigger-happy you are.  It is entirely up to each person how many paintballs they want to use.  From our experience of delivering top-notch paintball games for over 25 years, we would suggest that you estimate usage (for Juniors and Adults) at around 200-300 paintballs per person for a half-day session, and around 500-600 paintballs per person for a full-day session.  You can purchase paintballs at the centre throughout the day, during the breaks between games.

Can I bring my own paintballs?

For health and safety reasons, and to maintain a consistent, top-quality standard for every players experience, you can only use paintballs purchased on-site, on the day of your event. Not all paintballs are created equal: we import a specially formulated paintball from Europe, specifically designed to work best with our equipment and environmental conditions. Our paintballs are non-toxic, fully washable, and are environmentally friendly.

What equipment do I get?

You will be issued with all of the equipment essential to get stuck into the action and mow down the “bad guys”! Your load-out will include; Tippmann ‘98 Custom semi-automatic paintball marker (the industry leader); 20oz C02 canister (with unlimited refills); gravity fed hopper; full-face goggles & full-head protection “snood”;  all-in-one protective camouflage combat coveralls; and 4-pod “Battle-Pack” ammo belt. All of our equipment is professionally maintained by our fully-trained armourers and specifically selected to be the best for the job.

How can I purchase additional items on the day?

Additional items such as paintballs, gloves, paintball grenades, smoke bombs and flash-bangs (pyrotechnics for players aged 18+ years) can be purchased from the on-site shop cash or card. Gun upgrades and padded body armour are also available for hire in limited quantities (ask your Event Coordinator if you would like to pre-book these items before the day).

Is Full Impact Paintball suitable for children?

Parents need to know about the nature of the activity and decide for themselves whether their particular child is hardy, and mature enough to participate in paintball. Please also see the FAQ concerning 'Minimum Age' below for more information.

What is the minimum age?

The minimum age for all Full Impact Paintball players on the date of the game is 12 years old. The equipment and level of supervision provided by Warped Sports marshals makes paintball safe for any age of player - so it's not the 'danger' involved that determines our age limit - rather the fact that the equipment is quite heavy, the activity is adrenaline-charged, and therefore can all be a bit scary for young children.  It’s really important to us that every person has an exciting, fun experience, rather than a scary one. Even adults find the hairs on the back of their necks standing-up when a wave of 'enemy' players surges towards them, guns blazing!  Younger people may simply find this too intimidating.

Some 12 year olds might find it too much as well, so if you are in any doubt, please drop-by our site on a weekend and have a look for yourself - the Site Manager would be delighted to arrange a tour for you (or you can call our Event Coordinators on 01902 455455 if you would like to arrange a tour in advance).

We also have Low Impact Paintball available for ages 10+ and our Laser Combat activity is a great alternative to paintball for ages 7+ so if your child is younger, you may wish to choose this event.  You can explore the Laser Combat page on this web site or speak to one of our event co-ordinators to discuss the available options for your group.

Will my child be playing with adults?

Where possible we will join your group with appropriate groups of a similar age.  However, there are often groups of mixed ages (when parents like to play with their children, or there are older siblings joining in, etc). The first Saturday of every month is always our popular Incoming! Junior Day and we can usually ensure that all junior players will be playing together. We can also offer an exclusive game if you are bringing more than 20 players (please see the “How many players do I need to bring?” section for further details).

What food and drink is available?

A hot burger lunch is included with all of our Full-Day packages. The Junior Party package includes a hot-dog & drink for each participant. There is no charge for a vegetarian option, if required; please let your Event Coordinator know if you have any vegetarians in your party. If you have any other specialist dietary requirements please inform us; a supplemental fee will be payable. Lunch can be added to any of our packages at an additional charge, just ask your Event Coordinator when making a booking.  There is also a cafe on-site where you can purchase chocolates, drinks, crisps, and more.  You are also welcome to bring your own food/refreshments – many people bring a Birthday cake if they are celebrating somebody’s Special Day, for instance!

What happens if it rains/snows?

The paintball games go ahead regardless, in all weather conditions.  Each set of conditions brings its own “flavour” to the game dynamic and makes for an even more unique experience! All game zones are based outdoors in our 110 acre woodland area, so we recommend you bring wet weather gear and sturdy footwear with ankle support and deep tread.  It is advisable to bring a spare pair of shoes to go home in.  There are sheltered areas in the base camp where you can store your gear between games.  Players may also like to wear a thin waterproof layer of clothing under the combat suit we issue you for the day.

Can I use the paintballs if a player does not turn up on the day and I have already paid for them?

Unfortunately not.  If anyone fails to attend the event on the date you have booked, the prepayment and paintballs for that person will be forfeited for the day.  All payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.

LASER COMBAT at Warped Sports

How many players do I need to bring?

The minimum number of players required is usually 6 or more; we are sometimes able to accommodate smaller groups on an open session (where you would play with another group of people), if we have one available for you to join.  We can also offer exclusive laser combat games, playing against just members of your own group; you will need to bring a minimum of 10 players on our £20 party package and request this with your Event Coordinator when you make a booking. It’s definitely best to book well in advance if you want us to be able to guarantee you an exclusive game as our Laser Combat is a very popular activity!

What times can we play?

Sessions are 2 hours long and run as follows; 10am–12pm, 12pm–2pm, 2pm–4pm. During the Summer months we also offer a 4pm-6pm session. Please arrive approximately 10 minutes before your session is due to start, to ensure that your arrival & registration process is smooth and easy. We can also offer bespoke session timings, by arrangement (subject to availability); just give us a call to discuss your group with an Event Coordinator.

What is the minimum age?

The minimum age for laser combat is 7 years old and can be enjoyed by juniors and adults alike. Our top of the range equipment is easy to get to grips with and is modelled on real weapons (FN-P90 & HK-MP7) to really enhance the feel of being in a COD-style FPS computer game! Because the guns shoot laser beams rather than a physical projectile, laser combat is a really inclusive activity and is great for family days out or team get-togethers, where adult players may want to join in with the action alongside junior participants.

You will play a variety of games during your 2 hour session with formats including team death-match, free for all, and more! For larger groups, we deliver a fun “tournament challenge” format, which will see your group divided into smaller teams and rotated through a series of team-on-team games to determine the overall winners. This popular format is great for banter and the scope for cheerleading is immense!

What equipment do I get?

You will be issued with all-in-one protective camouflage combat coveralls, a sensor headband, and a top of the range BattleStorm CQB laser gun (the most advanced system available) which will look, and feel like real weapon; either an FN-P90 or an HK-MP7. The Battlestorm System will keep track of whether you’ve been hit and how many lives you have left – you can focus on getting stuck in and developing your tactics!

How much ammo do I get?

Our laser combat is an all-inclusive package so ammo is unlimited. You can pull the trigger to blast your mates as much as you like and it won’t have to worry about running out!

Are we supervised?

Warped Laser Combat is a fully managed and delivered experience; you will play structured, team-based games delivered by one of our expert Game Managers. Your Game Managers’ focus is to make sure that you enjoy your Warped Experience as much as possible and that everyone goes home “buzzing”, with plenty of stories to tell!

The Assault Course is comprised of 17 pieces of apparatus, each designed with input from military instructors to present a unique physical challenge. Over the course of your 2 hour session, your group will be split into teams and you will tackle these obstacles against each other through an Obstacle Relay, a Blind-Fold challenge, and finally an Individual Timed Run!

We can also offer alternative delivery styles, such a “Cannon Run” – your Event Coordinator can help you find the right style for your group, just ask when you make your booking.

Our Assault Course has three “levels of challenge”, depending on how intense you want the physical challenge to be. You can request any level of difficulty when you make your booking – if you aren’t sure which one would be right for your group, just ask you Event Coordinator when you make your booking, they will be happy to advise you.  The “Black Run” (the hardest level) is 1km long and incorporates every piece of apparatus at its’ highest challenge rating; the “Red Run” (medium level challenge) is 500m, incorporating all of the apparatus at a standard challenge rating; and the “Green Run” (standard level challenge) is slightly shorter and incorporates a variety of apparatus specifically selected by our expert instructors to suit your group and deliver a modest physical challenge.

Are we supervised?

The Assault Course is a fully managed and delivered experience; your challenge will be delivered by one of our expert instructors who will tailor the session to your group, ensuring that each person has a great time and goes home “buzzing”, with plenty of stories to tell!

How fit do I need to be?

Because the experience is specifically tailored to your group dynamic and abilities, it can be enjoyed by people of all fitness levels; there is no minimum requirement or standard. LOW IMPACT PAINTBALL at Warped Sports

What is Low Impact Paintball?

Low Impact Paintball is an alternative to “full-fat” paintball that utilises a smaller paintball which has a lower impact than an “ordinary” paintball. This reduced impact factor delivers an exciting and adrenaline filled paintball experience that can be enjoyed by players from the age of 10 years old, up to adult.

How many players do I need to bring?

The minimum number of players required is usually 6 or more; we are often able to accommodate smaller groups on an open session (where you would play with another group of people), if we have one available for you to join. You will be joined with other groups of like-minded players on the day to make up a team.

We can offer exclusive Low Impact Paintball games, playing against just members of your own group; you will need to bring a minimum of 20 players and request this with your Event Coordinator when you make a booking. How many paintballs will I need?

There is no way of knowing how many paintballs any individual will use, as it depends on how trigger-happy you are.  It is entirely up to each person how many paintballs they want to use.  From our experience of delivering top-notch paintball games for over 25 years, we would suggest that you estimate usage (for Juniors and Adults) at around 200-300 paintballs per person for a half-day session, and 400-500 paintballs per person for a full-day session.

Your load-out will include; Valken Cobra semi-automatic paintball marker (the industry leader); 3000psi compressed air cylinder (with unlimited refills); gravity fed hopper; full-face goggles & full-head protection “snood”;  all-in-one protective camouflage combat coveralls; and 4-pod “Battle-Pack” ammo belt.

Padded body armour is also available for hire in limited quantities (ask your Event Coordinator if you would like to pre-book these items).

Is Low Impact Paintball suitable for children?

Parents need to know about the nature of the activity and decide for themselves whether their particular child is hardy, and mature enough to participate in paintball. Please also see the FAQ concerning 'Minimum Age' below for more information.

What is the minimum age?

The minimum age for all Low Impact Paintball players on the date of the game is 10 years old.  The equipment and level of supervision provided by Warped Sports marshals makes Low Impact Paintball safe for any age of player - so it's not the 'danger' involved that determines our age limit - rather the fact the activity is adrenaline-charged, and can therefore all be a bit scary for young children.  It’s really important to us that every person has an exciting, fun experience, rather than a scary one.

Even adults find the hairs on the back of their necks standing-up when a wave of 'enemy' players surges towards them, guns blazing!  Younger people may simply find this too intimidating.  Some 10 year olds might find it too much as well, so if you are in any doubt, please drop-by our site on a weekend and have a look for yourself - the Site Manager would be delighted to arrange a tour for you (or you can call our Event Coordinators on 01902 455455 if you would like to arrange a tour in advance).

Please note that our laser combat activity is a great alternative to paintball for ages 7+ so if your child is younger, you may wish to choose this activity for your event.

We can offer an exclusive game if you are bringing more than 20 players (please see the “How many players do I need to bring?” section for further details).

The Low Impact Paintball games go ahead regardless, in all weather conditions.

COMBAT ARCHERY at Warped Sports

How many players do I need to bring?

The minimum number of players required is usually 6 or more; we are sometimes able to accommodate smaller groups on an open session (where you would play with another group of people), if we have one available for you to join.  We can also offer exclusive sessions, involving just members of your own group; call one of our friendly Event Coordinators on 01902 455455 (7 days, ‘til 9pm) to discuss the options for this. It’s definitely best to book well in advance if you want us to be able to guarantee you an exclusive session!

Is it available all year round?

Yes. The Combat Archery is not seasonal and we can deliver it at any time of the year.

What is the minimum age?

The minimum age for Combat Archery is 8 years old and can be enjoyed by juniors and adults alike. Of course, every group is different and our expert instructors will tailor the delivery of the activity to your specific group dynamic, and age, to ensure that each member of your party has a unique, fun, and challenging experience.

How much ammo do I get?

Combat Archery is an all-inclusive activity, with no extra costs; all of the arrows that you need are included.

Are we supervised?

Warped Combat Archery is a fully managed and delivered experience; you will play structured, team-based games delivered by one of our expert Game Managers. Your Game Managers’ focus is to make sure that you enjoy your Warped Experience as much as possible and that everyone goes home “buzzing”, with plenty of stories to tell!

We can offer an exclusive game if you are bringing more than 20 players (please see the “How many players do I need to bring?” section for further details).

Do I need to be fit?

Combat Archery is designed to be an inclusive and relatively low-impact activity, perfect for an outing or works do with a difference. As such, it is suitable for all ages (from 8+ years) and all levels of fitness. This really is a great way to spend a couple of quality hours out in our 110 acre woodland with a group of family, friends, work colleagues – it also makes for a fantastic fun Stag or Hen activity!

Is it messy?

Combat Archery is not particularly messy but the woodland can get a little muddy if the weather has been wet. For this reason, we recommend boots or trainers with a good tread and ankle support.
